Sometimes dinner just isn’t long enough. Maybe you’re celebrating a special occasion, meeting up with friends or family after a long time apart, or perhaps you just need a night or two away. Whatever the reason you can now extend your visit to Lakeside with a stay in our luxurious Lake View Lodge.
Situated at the southern end of the lake in a secluded corner, the spacious lodge sleeps 4 people in two bedrooms and has superior views of the lake and tower. It once accommodated the workers at the pumping station and, like the main building, has Grade II listed status. Built in the same red brick it too has been sympathetically restored to its former glory with contemporary design features and meticulous attention to detail.
Details such as luxuriously soft beds, Bluetooth speakers and a great coffee machine. A walk-in rainfall shower, fluffy robes and large flat-screen TV. All things that we know make a difference. There’s even a cot and a high chair provided for those travelling with small children, and parking right in front of the door, so you don’t need to worry about a thing. It’s not just the inside that’s been renovated either. Enjoy alfresco drinks on your very own private terrace, strung with festoon lighting so you can relax under the stars.
Choose our Dine & Stay package to get the full Lakeside experience, with a relaxed three-course meal in the Lakeside Bar & Restaurant as well as a night’s accommodation in the lodge. Perfect for elevating a special occasion to something truly memorable, it allows you to make the most of your visit to Lakeside. Strolling to and from the main building along the lakeside path, there is plenty of time to explore the grounds as well as enjoy the luxurious facilities on offer.
Out and about
Or perhaps you want to explore the area, with the knowledge that you’ve got stylish sophistication to return to at the end of the day. Use the lodge as a base to visit Nottingham, just a few miles away, with its independent boutiques and household names. Soak up some culture at Nottingham Contemporary, Broadway or the Nottingham Playhouse, or revisit the past on the City of Caves tour or at the newly-opened Nottingham Castle.
Head in the other direction and you’ll reach Sherwood Forest, the legendary hideout of Robin Hood and his Merry Men, and Newstead Abbey, the ancestral home of Lord Byron. See examples of the oldest verified cave art in the UK at Cresswell Crags or let off some steam in the trees at Sherwood Pines.
Whatever your style and whichever break you choose, the same comfortable beds, contemporary interior and warm welcome awaits.
